@FawnOverFun people cant always afford to host a blog, or know how, or trust the services that exist for that.
if people want to use the fediverse for blogging purposes because they trust their friend or whoever happens to host the software more than anything else, and cant be bothered with the annoyances of normal blogging software, especially considering some fediverse software is made more for blogging like purposes (thinking wafrn being tumblr-like, which itself was based on the bloggin scene), then i think thats fine and we should let them do that.
and if people want to use it like twitter, which personally ive thought to be actively dangerous for people mentally (despite the fact that i use it this way, hypocritically), i think thats fine too.
@FawnOverFun i mean im not wrong, policing the way people treat their social media like this and wanting people to be put into boxes of use-style is the entire thing that this is supposed to be antithetical to.
what im saying is if you want to find people who use it the way you prefer to use it, you can do that, and if there are people who are using it in a way you dislike, you can avoid them. that is your choice as much as it is theirs.
