having applied to so many jobs lately im starting to see patterns.
companies using the same application and onboarding site, when you apply an automated email gets sent to you to 'track your application progress' the login link for all of these emails lately take you to that business' homepage with no login button anywhere. this used to take you to a company specific login page.
other companies using a thing called "olivia.paradox.ai", this one frustrates me the most. when you apply you will get sent either a series of texts or emails (sometimes both!) in quick succession that seem to be purposed for spread out times (see image below). then after being seemingly expedited! you either fill out some extra information and wait or you immediately get to schedule an interview. how amazing, finally i can get an interview!
except, this ai doesnt tell the store, the people actually conducting the interviews, that it set up an interview, or has an applicant. time and time again ive called or even shown up for a fucking interview, just to be told that "we are not hiring" and "theres nothing i can go into and tell it that we arent hiring, to tell it to stop setting up interviews" (except that they can), one time i went in and saw two people come into the store after me, both also get denied.
this is so incredibly fucking annoying, and a massive waste of resources and time.
a lot of companies ive called or shown up for, and have been told they are not hiring, keep their applications up on job boards and on their company websites despite not even conducting interviews. its diluting everything and im so sick of it.
