@nellePoint that’s very fair tbh, i only caught up like- six months ago and i was watching for months prior like- several episodes a day AND like none of them are filler
@nellePoint if you don’t have a tonnnn of time and want like- a funny show, i like my deer friend nokotan, but uhhh- im not sure. like- what genres would you wanna check out?
@FawnOverFun generally im not a huge fan of fantasy settings, if its a fantasy setting i would prefer the style and story to do most of the work
i generally watch more scifi dramas (but again, not too out there scifi), or just things that will make me cry/feel things (steins;gate, wonder egg priority, bocchi the rock, yuru-camp, ergo proxy, erased, etc.)
@nellePoint hmmm- well if you’ve seen evangelion and cowboy bebop, that’s the best i can recommend, and they’re not super long. but aside from that, i’ve heard good things about code geass, though i haven’t watched myself.
to the “makes you cry” side, i liked oremonogatari, though it’s STRAIGHT and a romance anime, uhhhh- i also liked “your name,” another romance, it was pretty good, also it’s a movie so you can knock that one out in one sitting
@nellePoint off the top of my head dungeon meshi frieren dan da dan (I was gonna say jujutsu kaisen but I feel like that might go in your "whatever" pile?)
@nellePoint for my personal judgement: dungeon meshi awesome! so full of clever details and worldbuilding (just iirc in like episode 2 one character is 100x more of a jerk than in the rest of the series and it's a bit weird) dan da dan is awesome (except the sexual aggression scene in episode 1 (and I think one more near the end?) like whyyyyy I'd rank it perfect other wise)
@lykrast@nellePoint i second all of these except jjk because in the manga they fuck it up and might be a let down if you get into the story instead of just watching bc the animation is stunning
