one main problem i see with fedi is that due to its federated/anybody can host an instance nature, people think its okay to do horrible morally apprehensible things, and get away with it, because it is also nearly impossible to perfectly moderate.
and these people will find those who defend them, and they will be intertwined with the "community" as a whole.
this place will never be fixed, it was broken from the start, and some of you are vile.
some are absolutely wonderful, but those who are awful make this place miserable
ive never been on a social platform that has singlehandedly caused as much trauma as fedi.
