fediverse admins- hi!

may i ask what size your instance's database is?

my db has grown to >10GB and has caused the rest of the services this server hosts to fail. i know this is an occupational hazard with running a fedi instance but i had not expected 10GB, and i'm concerned about the long-term feasability of this instance if it continues to rise at this rate.

@ari ouroboros.gay which is largely a single user iceshrimpjs (calckey originally) instance ive run for almost 3 years now is about 20gb

@nellePoint my DB sizes aren't lining up with what i'm hearing from other admins- i'm concerned that 3 years for me will mean closer to 40-60GB discomforting

@ari @nellePoint you could use the free oracle vps wich has 200gb for free and 4 very powerful cores and 24gb ram.


Second thing, the vacuums, do you run them every once in a while?
