ive been seeing too many videos that go something like this:

1. title: "i run minecraft on this {old device}"
( ooh this looks interesting, click )
2. so the first caveat is that minecraft doesnt run on this machine, so i use this alternative software that runs on anything

DISQUALIFIED

especially the last one i saw, which was like "yeah so because its xp it cant run minecraft" and then he lists the min requirements listed on the minecraft.net site, which is based on the latest version of the game


i really feel the urge to do a proper one of these now, get some ancient tech and run the game on there. if it can run java 6 ! it has the possibility of running the craft !

@nellePoint actually versions up to release 1.8 dont even require java 6, theyre all java 5 compatible!! its genuinely crazy that they kept that up to like 2014 afjgsdfs

@nellePoint Reminds me that I low-key want to try running Minecraft on my Sun Blade 150 (sparc from 2005) using either Solaris 10 or OpenSolaris.

@nellePoint same with those "using [insert decade] tech for a week!" and then they go "wahhhh no tiktok or YouTube on the iPhone 3g which was stupid expensive for someone my age at the time!"

There was a bid I saw on the guy criticising those bids but honestly kinda wanna make my own "edc" since I use some things that are considered old and why I use the things I use (answer: it just works™)
