@square its kinda hard to explain but its like not asking where somebody is from but where somebody's way of speaking is from, and its strange, often makes the other person sorta uncomfortable. which, neither is always the most sensitive of questions to ask.
and when i see somebody else asking it i feel embarrassed for them
