On HRT administration methods and privilege One thing that bothers me when trans ppl harp on "just do injections" because like, yes- they have numerous benefits but being able to do them in the first place is a privileged position, even via DIY methods*, and not everyone can handle needles even if they have the means to get injections**.

*: DIY HRT availability can really depend on region. In the US, it's relatively easy to get, but in several EU and Asian countries, it's significantly harder to get, as customs routinely check packages and seize them if they contain non-authorized pharmaceuticals.

**: A lot of people will just say this flat out isn't true and you just need to get used to it but as someone who would routinely have panic attacks for about six months while trying to do my injections, while I eventually got over it, I completely understand someone giving up on them

On HRT administration methods and privilege @julia i do injection, and i have an autoinjector

ive been on injections since august last year, and i have yet to actually do an injection on myself to this day, i require help from somebody every week.

im too afraid to do it myself, it is not pleasant.

On HRT administration methods and privilege @julia im absolutely digging the benefits from switching from pills, but like, if i didnt have people in my life willing to help me out idk if id be doing them at all out of fear
