Wait how do you add softener to a washing machine without a tray for it or a spot for it in the center of the drum

Do you just... Pour it in? That feels like it'd be really uneven...

@julia the water fills up and it shakes around violently, id say it gets pretty homogenously mixed and diluted in the water for the most part.
